I am interested in learing autocad and becoming a autocad draftsman in the manufacturing and fabrication field. I will take the classes at my local college, but they offer different kinds of courses and I was hoping that someone could offer me some advice. I could either take the inclass classes, which would take me about a year to complete, or take an online, 19 week, course, but this costs $3300. Is autocad something I could learn through an online course? Its says that its an 'certification' course, do employers look for a particular certification?
Also, what does it take to become a draftsman? Could I learn enough through college courses, or after completing those, do I need to work somewhere to gain experience? What did you all do? How long did it take you guys to be up and running by yourselves?
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
